Medieval Pack Update

I had planned on posting yesterday but I have been so engrossed trying out the fantastic Hundred Years War Theme Pack that didn't get it done. Now I have had time to check out the pack I'm even more impressed now than I was when it was first announced and I saw those screenshots. It's a big pack, 230mb so if you are on a slow connection it may take a time to download. I detailed the content in my previous post but in addition there are 3 sample project files featuring archers firing their weapons.

This really is like a mini movie studio in one pack. Everything is here to make your historical based movie, and for anyone who has an interest in these things it's an absolute must. I know the price tag may put some people off but the sheer amount of content is enormous, and of a really high standard. The look of the castle scene and props, to the armour of the soldiers is spot on and really bring the battlefield to life.

The castle comes complete or in parts so you can build your scene any way you like. The horses are live props so you can animate them as you can the siege weapons. All the animations you will need for your infantry and cavalry are included so some fantastic battles can be created. Check out the demo movie I posted previously to see this in action.

There is one small problem and that is that the 100+ motions do not show up in the Motion Editor library which makes editing the motions a little tricky. There is a workaround for this that involves using the "Merge" command to add the motions to the library but it would be nice to get this resolved soon. The problem only affects the Motion Editor. All animations are present within iClone itself so you have no worries there.

If you would like to know how to use the "Merge" command in the Motion Editor then take a look here:

All in all another incredible pack from the talented team at Reallusion. Don't forget it is available in a combo pack with everything included (best value) or in individual packs to make it easier on the wallet. If you haven't taken a look at this pack I would click the link above and do so now. It really pushes iClone to another level in movie making.

Crazytalk 5

Probably the biggest news since I took a break was the full release of Crazytalk 5. This massive update to v4.6 was really feature packed with so many new goodies to play around with. Among the new features were Real Time Puppeteering, Multiple Face Profiles (for non human characters), Drag and Drop Motion Clips, Text Bubbles and Swappable Background/Foreground SFX line.

Crazytalk was released in two flavours, Crazytalk and Crazytalk 5 Pro. I think the new name changes better reflect the two products rather than using Standard and Studio etc. I hope this name change carries over to iClone 3.0 when it is released later this year. I just like the sound of iClone 3.0 Pro already.

I'll be looking at the new features in more detail in the future but if you want to check out more information about the new features of Crazytalk 5 you can do so here:

Take a look at a great video showing how the multiple face profiles can bring almost anything to life in Crazytalk.

Blog Opening Again Soon

After almost four months away (ouch!) I'm going to re-open the blog again soon. The name will be the same but posting will certainly not be daily or sometimes even weekly, but I will try to continue the blog in limited form and keep everybody posted on all the latest developments in the world of iClone and Crazytalk. Much has happened since I went away so I will try and catchup on all the news and events that have taken place since I went disgracefully AWOL.

Thanks for the supporting words I received when I took my absence. I really appreciated that. Hopefully I can make this blog a place worth visiting again and perhaps some you iClone fans out there will drop by from time to time. That's my goal anyway.
