Dungeon Quest Sequel Planned

Reallusion have given a teaser of a new pack coming for iClone tentatively called Fantasy 2. For fans of the Dungeon Quest Collection Pack which was released with G1 figures, this new pack looks like a improved G2 sequel with some incredible new characters. Check out the preview here. I think you will agree it looks mighty impressive. Can't wait for more details to emerge. It's listed for release in August so not long to wait now.

iClone Daily Update

It's been a busy week for me so I've not been able to update the blog sadly. Thankfully it's been a quiet week on the iClone front so I haven't missed anything important in my absence. Today I thought I would just update a few things and generally ramble on for a bit.

First up, in the little bit of free time I have had this week I've been trying out the Feminine Movement Motion Pack. This pack contains 36 new motions of really good quality. I can never get enough new animations for my iClone characters and this pack was a great addition to the library. One problem I'm having is that as my motion library grows I'm beginning to lose track of where each particular motion I want is. It's a case of knowing I have the animation I want somewhere but it's taking me an age to find it. I'm going to try and think of way of indexing all these animations as soon as I get chance. I hate wasting valuable time searching for stuff when I'm in the middle of a project.

I also want to get back to working on a project I started using the G2 Max Templates. I started it a while ago but got sidetracked with the CloneCloth stuff (So many goodies, so little time) but now I really want to get that one finished. More about this soon.

Since the iClone 2.1 Vista Patch was released I've been working full time with iClone on my Vista setup and boy is it an improvement on the performance I was getting from older Windows XP machine. I know a lot of people knock Vista but I really like it and now I have my 4 favourite Reallusion programs running on it. iClone 2.1, Crazytalk 4.6, FaceFilter Studio 2.0 and 3DXchange are all happily running in Vista without a hitch. Also 3DS Max 9 now works in Vista just fine so overall I'm a happy man and don't have any regrets about moving full time to Vista.

Well that's it for today. More coming soon. Happy iCloning.

Here Come The Centurions

After a hectic time on the iClone front it's been a relatively quiet week as far as iClone news goes but this gives me a chance to give a shout out to a fellow CCD Developer Aknzrdude. This super talented guy has been on the iClone scene since day one and consistently turns out great work.

With the release this week of the first batch of G2 CloneCloth Packs, Aknzrdude has released a fantastic historical pack called "The Centurions". I'm no expert when it comes to historical figures but this pack seems super realistic to me and outstanding quality. Aknzrdude never fails to impress, be it with his iClone creations or his first rate video work.

Check out The Centurions pack here:

New Content Packs Released

A bit of shameless self promotion now. A couple of content packs I created have been released in the Reallusion Content Store. One is for iClone, the other for Crazytalk.

The Swinging 60's Dress And Boot Pack for iCone is a collection of 5 60's style dresses and 3 pairs of boots. The texture pack requires that you already own or purchase the CloneCloth Gown figure and the Shoes Pack to be able to use these groovy new textures. Price is $27.95. More screenshots and to purchase can be found here:

The Real Characters Pack 1 for Crazytalk is a collection of 6 different 'Characters' made up of 4 female and 2 male heads. For this pack I went for a diverse collection of different people rather than the typical 'beautiful' look. Price is $12.95 and can be purchased here:

Maya Beta Plugin Released

For those Maya users there is good news today with the release of the Maya Beta Plugin for iClone. Up until now only 3DS Max had plugins to enable content to be exported to iClone but now Maya fans can join the party too. I've never been a Maya user so I can't comment on how well it works but this new move should open up a new source of developers for iClone which is good for all of us.

G2 Templates Available Now

Today it was announced that the G2 3DS Max Templates for developers have been released. Unlike the G1 Templates this time around you will need to apply to get your hands on them and the provision is that you have already submitted G2 Texture content first. If you are interested and this all sounds a little confusing then you should check out all the info here and here
